Training

All teams train at our home ground, L’Estrange Park (Cnr King and Sutherland Sts, Mascot). Training days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights between 6pm – 8:30pm. Training is normally 1 night per week and lasts for about 1 hour. The exact time and day of your training will be at the discretion of the team coach. They are volunteers and need to arrange training on a day and time that suits both themselves and the team.

Please remember that ALL COACHES ARE VOLUNTEERS.

Will my child be graded?

Grading is a structured skills and fitness assessment process that enables our coaches to understand how best to cater to the individual and group skill levels. It allows our coaches to tailor their training sessions appropriately placing equally skilled players together in a squad enabling them to develop faster and more confidently.

We do not as a general rule undertake grading for every child and if a child prefers to play with their friends then they can.

Who will coach my child’s team?

The coaches of the Miniroos teams are usually team parents. The Miniroos rules are very simple to allow the young players to have fun without pressure and the same applies to the parent helpers/team leaders as well.

The competitive teams are usually coached by people with more experience, sometimes parents or ex players and sometimes even current players.

Are coaches qualified?

100% of our coaches are volunteers and of these, some are qualified coaches and the others are awesome parents who volunteer their time to coach teams.
